The College provides for institutional membership of Students’ Health Home, Govt. of West Bengal. Students can avail medical facilities and specialized treatment with an annual subscription of Rs. 10/- (Rupees ten) only.
A Health Unit comprising of a sick room and first aid facilities is provided to all the students.
Students Health Home (SHH) was established in 1952 and its root can be traced back to the country's freedom struggle, and can be considered a rich heritage of Bengal. It was founded by the entire student community with the spirit of a self-help movement, whose aim was to support ailing students.
The story of SHH can be experienced in the full-length feature film KINTU GALPO NOY, which was released in June 2018. The film, featured renowned actors like Ashoke Mukhopadhyay, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Paran Bandopadhyay, Debshankar Halder, Meghnad Bhattacharya, Badsha Moitra, and Papiya Adhikari, who shared the screen on an honorary basis. The film was made available on various digital platforms after being acquired by EROS.
SHH has had a journey of over 70 years and it has been able to provide care to countless ailing students, including those suffering from cancer, dangerous injuries, or even life-threatening infections. While not every patient could be saved, the majority recovered, and the young sufferrers, who couldn't were given the best possible support, including medical treatment, love, and affection.
